I don't have a magic button to fold the Rear Headrests and was wondering if you can fold them forward manually?

Yes, you can. The car must be stationary and at least one rear door open. Pull the handles located on the car's left and right-hand backrests forward. The backrest disengages from the lock and the headrest will pop down automatically. Push back the backrest to upright position until the lock engages, make sure the red indicator is no longer showing and you’re done.

Doesn’t seem to work on my Momentum. Maybe this function is only on the Inscription? It was certainly a useful feature on my previous V40 Momentum but not everything gets carried forward.

I just checked various manuals - seems headrest lowering was only present on cars equipped with electronic lowering of the rear seat. From MY20 this function wasn't available so the headrests can't be lowered.

I have to say the side mirrors are the best I've ever encountered for giving a view behind the car, so the rear window view is only really necessary for reversing or being tailgated by a motorbike.

Thank for your responses, unfortunately the headrests on my Inscription do not appear to move in any direction (Forward/Back Up/Down). This is the first significant design fault I have found as the headrests now foul the backs of the front seats when they are folded forward. This will lead to unnecessary wear on both.

Disappointing Volvo!

The user manual says all three rear headrests manually move up and down irrespective of complex systems that may or may not be included. Have you found the release button under the headrest??

MY20 onwards manuals don’t say this.

Don’t believe everything you read in the manual. Four years ago my new V40 did not have a forward-folding front passenger seat back although advertised in the brochure and described in the manual. I had found this feature useful in my previous V50. Volvo agreed to compensate me by providing roof rails instead!
