I have placed my order to include £150 for a spare wheel however it dawned on me that it may not fit under the boot floor. Can anyone with the hybrid version confirm ?
The boot volume of your T5 Recharge Hybrid is identical with all other XC40’s. No worries, the spare wheel fits perfectly under the boot floor, it’s a “thin” 125/80 R17 size that can be used up to maximum 50 mph.

It seems to be that if the volvo car configurator lets you add one to a build then it will fit. Note the pure electric can't be specified with a spare wheel
I believe the recharge can take a spare wheel because it is front wheel drive only. The bigger Volvos have the rear electric motor under the boot floor. Do not know about the full electric Xc40.
Would you know why the Hybrid version doesn’t come with the folding boot floor. I was wondering if it would fit so I could look to buy one from spares.
I don't know. But if you pick up the spare wheel, there is a bulk cube under it, reaching up almost to the top of the lower space. I can't send you a picture now, the car is not with us. I remember when picking our car at the dealer, there was a T4 with the folding floor and it had no such cube as far as I remember.
