MPG
As the cars gradually make an appearance on the roads, it would be good to see what mpg returns people are getting on average from their 53 litre fuel tanks and whether it’s better/worse than they expected? We all know that location and driving styles and environment have an impact on fuel usage and that the Diesel MPG will improve as time goes on, but this thread can be used to monitor people’s thoughts on the fuel consumption of their vehicles.
I am still waiting for my FE , T5 but test drove similar yesterday at my local dealers .
I was told that the T5 will average between - 20 to 25 miles a gallon , city driving .
That is on the low side , maybe will improve as the car is " driven in " over time

I'm coming from a V6 diesel into the T5.
Long term for my Audi has been 38 mpg, however recent operation means having to reduce my annual mileage for work.
Mate of mine has the XC60 T5 and his long term average now is just under 30.
I would hope with the XC40 being lighter than the XC60 and with the mileage I do for work and around town, I should be able to get to a long term average of 32, as long as I keep those short trips down

Just done the first long run in my D4. 156 miles mostly motorway and fast dual carriageway. Averaged 40.8 mpg.

My Audi took about 10k miles to fully run in before returning it's best mpg.

Return trip - another 156 miles. Averaged 40.2. I should have mentioned that the run yesterday was all in Eco mode. Today I mixed it up a bit and added a bit of Individual and Dynamic (excellent mid range acceleration!).
