HI all,
I hope that all are well in these odd times.
I have been trying to look into the theoretic possibility of retrofitting hybrid capabilities from a T5 Twin Engine to a regular XC40 T3.
So it's quite likely that it's not in any way possible, but in case anyone knows more, then it would be interesting to hear if it would theoretically be possible to retrofit that hybrid capability.
Stay safe.
Retrofit hybrid
To give a very short answer, this is more than likely to be impossible,
Aside from the lack of battery pack in the unused transmission tunnel, there would be the entire engine / gearbox swap plus at least the ECU and engine management software would need to be updated.
The only real way to make this possible would be to drive the T3 into a dealer and part exchange it for a T5 TwinEngine (or ReCharge as the are now called)
