Can someone with a FE confirm that the charging port in the rear is a 3A/5V USB Type C as it states in the manual? Any pictures? Are the USB ports in the front USB Type A 3.1 (super-speed) or 3.0? or...ghastly 2.0? Wish they had a Type C in the front.

Thanks!

I have at last seen a description of the USB ports. I believe the rear port is Type C and the two ports in the front are one Type C (the lower one), and one Type A which is confirmed as 3.1.The latter is the one with the white line surround to indicate it's the one to use for Apple CarPlay etc..

HI pjm, the front ones look they are both type A’s, I.e. rectangular. Type C’s have rounded ends - like in the rear photo.

Yes Boomer - wrote the last post incorrectly! Two Type As in the front - 2.0. The Type C in the back is 3.1.

The one type A in the front with the white line is a higher speed in order to support Android Auto and Carplay, not sure If 3.0 or 3.1.

Yes I can believe that, but in the manual it implies they are both 2.0.

Thanks useful to know.

Why would they fit a Type C, surely it would make more sense to have a USB so it offers more compatibility as you can always get a USB to Type C cable.

Is using a Type C to Type C cable seen as quicker / better?

...and vice versa. USB A is dying albeit slowly. USB C is (meant to be) the future!

So, has anyone found a converter for the back USB-c port to dual standard usb that works well?
Get my new FE tomorrow and I know the usb-c is going to be the first issue the kids have.
