I initially thought it might be some sort of coating on the glass, hence why I used a couple of specialist glass polishes.
It's happened since day 1, the wiper clears the water on the first pass, but then leaves a streak on the return pass. This needs another 4-5 passes before it starts to vanish (but still leaves a smear to evaporate)

The Rainex was supposed to help the water 'bead' up and run off more easily... didn't make nay difference.

RainX is a funny product. It works well when applied correctly, but not for particularly long (couple weeks of moderate use), and the more you use the wipers the quicker it degrades. Personally, using RainX has always caused streaking for me - the type that does disappear after a few seconds, until the next wipe when it creates new streaks. I find washing the windscreen and wipers regularly with regular car shampoo works much better.

As such I chose to only use RainX on non-wiped surfaces, like the wing mirrors and side windows.

I find at certain speeds - after cleaning the windscreen - that water seems to drip out of the jets on the wipers on the few wipes after the water has stopped and remains just off screen centre

The out-of-the-wiper jets use a lot more screenwash than traditional jets. I've got through litres of the stuff this winter, a lot more than my previous car, and I've done a lot less miles than usual.
