I have had my car for a week. Bought as an ex-demo 68 plat with 2,800 miles on it.
Has privacy glass, convenience pack and winter pack plus 19" alloys.
My first Volvo BTW although I've had a Saab 9-5 in the past.
First impressions:
Lots of space, easy to drive, big blinds spots for reversing.
Very convenient boot, easy seat folding, comfy seats.
Amount of tech is a bit overwhelming at first
Reset button for trip computer is in a daft place on the end of the opposite side stalk!
Fuel consumption driven fairly gently on a mixture of roads is just over 50mpg fill to fill - which I'm very pleased with.
Momentum Pro D3 - first impressions
Took delivery of our Momentum Pro D3 yesterday. Agree with all your comments; loads of tech!!
Fantastic car to drive. always surprised that most owners opt for petrol models.

XC40 D3 manual, momentum pro, thunder grey, with convenience pack and rear parking camera.
I find the auto D3 engine to be a little vocal especially in town. I can also hear it up to 45mph as a background diesel knock on a very light throttle.
Odd that’s it’s most noticeable when the engine is hot.
Lovely and quiet when cold which is the opposite of what I expected.
Had it checked at the last service and they could find nothing wrong, but once heard I can’t stop focusing on it.
Generally a great engine though. Easy to get high 40s mpg. 50+ mpg on a run and even managed over 60mpg on a 100 mile drive going through multiple 50mph speed limits up the M5/M6.

Further comments:
I like:
The comfy seats
The quiet engine (compared to Mercedes 2135cc diesel)
The flat floor boot
Buttons to drop the rear seats and headrests
Nice manual gearbox
Light clutch
Heated front screen
Plenty of storage space
LED instruments
I don't like:
Voice control gets it wrong 50% of the time when I want radio 2 or classic FM but works fine when I want to change the temperature (duh?)
Lack of a water temperature gauge
Touchscreen interface could be better
Rear 3/4 blind spots
Auto wipers default to off when you turn the ignition off (used to stay on in the Merc)
Nowhere to rest left foot
Getting used to:
Reversing camera
Keyless entry
Larger turining circle than the C class

There's a setting in the touchscreen interface where you can make the autowipers on be default.Klanky wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 9:01 pm Further comments:

On my XC40 there is a "step" at the left side of the footwell to rest the left foot. I have the R Design.
.
Thank you.
That's useful to know
The Volvo has a bigger manual than anything else I've ever owned!
