With the new 2021 software system update I love the way that both driving mode and specific gear can be invoked with the voice control. To be able to say "Driving Mode: Dynamic" followed by "Gear Change: Three", is sensational.
A handy tip for electric seats for those who don’t know.
We all know that, with the door closed that you have to keep the seat setting button pressed until it reaches the setting but with the door open, it’s just a single press.

Maybe it's because my previous car is old (2007 Ford Mondeo), but I noticed today that there is no engine temperature gauge in the XC40
No, that’s correct. I didn’t have one on our Mini JCW. So it fitted a Scangauge.

I don't understand. Why is the fact that your previous car is old, and a Ford, any possible connection with you noticing that there's no temperature gauge?
I once had a car without a tachometer and the XC40 does, should I be concerned?

Because I assumed that it’s a new car thing and wanted to indicate that I’ve not owned a new car for a long while.
Other people replied without sarcasm and you didn’t, should I be concerned?

Not a new car thing, just a Volvo thing. My misses new VW T-Cross still has a temperature gauge, as does the brand new just facelifted Tiguan.
It's not just a Volvo thing, and it's not old or new car thing. It's just a thing.
Many Fords, BMWs and many other makes don't have temperature gauges.
My wife's previous car, a Toyota from 2002, didn't have a temperature gauge. Her latest, a Mini, doesn't have one either.
