What have you just found out about your XC40?...

That after having the car for just over a year my free 100Gb/12 month SIM just ran out of time.

And that in the 12 months I only used just over 1 Gb of the 100 available. Pretty much 99 Gb left.

I'll buy a smaller card this year.

There's a 3 Network 12Gb for 12 months at £29 that's looking a lot better than topping up the Volvo Vodafone for £100.

The 3 network 24gb/24 month sim looks better value, £45 on Amazon...

I’ve been using one since I got the car, runs out in a couple of weeks and I have a new one ready and waiting.

Yes, hadn't spotted that. Thanks.
That's the one I'll go for.

I’ve just bought a T5 Recharge XC40 R-Design Pro. I absolutely love the car and almost everything has exceeded expectations. The one thing that hasn’t is the electric range. The readout that gives info on how many electric miles there are remaining until the battery runs out is erratic and almost always too generous. Even when driving like a grandma the best i can do “real world” is about 16-18, even when it said I should have 24 (the brochure figure is 26-27). If I drive more aggressively then the number is appalling.

Which drive mode are you using? Have you tried with gesr mode B for higher recuperation?

I tend to use both D and B, I just switch into B whenever I’m about to brake. Even doing that only helps a fraction. Yesterday the dial dropped 3 miles in 100m at one point.

1gb is not much. Have you switched on Real Time Traffic Info, RTTI? Also use the car to manage your software updates including map updates. It can be fun trying the different internet radio stations using TuneIn. Have you downloaded things like the weather app to the car. If you are going to pay for an additional sim card then make the most of it.

I've only done 5,000 miles over the 12 months so perhaps that's the reason.

Yes, RTTI is on and used.

For what it's worth the weather app is active - I find it's not very accurate, and I can always look out of the window to get the real situation 😀.

I also update the UK map using the SIM.

Not used TuneIn beyond a brief test. I'm pretty much a BBC radio2 user (🤪) and the Volvo incarnation of TuneIn doesn't work with BBC R2. So I use the DAB.

So a 5k miles worth of satnav traffic, updating the UK map when required uses about 1Gb in the year.

That there's a funnel in the toolkit. So you can fill up the fuel tank from a portable fuel can.
Ah! That's what it's for. I was wondering... Thank you!
Cheers,

You can scroll between stations you've added to Radio Favourites by using the left and right arrows on the steering wheel control.
