Thanks, I'll take a better look in the morning.

So you sit in the car and all is locked - Press the button (the one behind steering wheel, adjacent to the dashboard dimmer wheel) and the tailgate lock clicks unlocked?

Does anything further happen, does it unlatch?
Thanks

Ahhhh...I meant the one on the remote keyfob....but even still I’m pretty sure when you push the one on the dash the boot unlatches. I can check tomorrow.

When traction control cuts in, instead of flashing an amber light on the dash like every European and Japanese car I've driven previously, the accelerator pedal would vibrate, although softer than forward collision warning. Its accompanied by a soft crunching sound from what sounds like the brakes.

It's just a bit weird because I'm not even pushing it that hard, car is not even remotely under steering or anything. Must be Volvo's over protective nannying.

Figured it out this morning!

Yes the button on the dash unlocks the tailgate. Doesn't need a press and hold, a short press works.

It just unlocks without a sound, I was expecting a mechanical click like the doors, but doesn't unlatch or partly open the tailgate.

If you sit in the car and lock yourself in a press on the button appears to do nothing. No sound, no indication that the tailgate has unlocked. That's were my "assistant" came in, standing outside trying the tailgate.

The internal button unlocks the tailgate which then can be opened on a further press of the actual external tailgate button.

Not sure if I'd ever use this!!! But at least the button does work.

Now I have only dummy adaptive cruise control buttons that are worthless and don't do anything!!!

Ha! You got my keys Paulinyork...ha ha ha!

There appears to be some mixing and matching going on.
I have had mine Momentum D3 since March 19, have only just discovered a button that opens the boot...and a Sim Card slot in the boot as well..
Thing I don't like about Volvo 😀. I also have a button for the boot. It lights up and is an actual button, it presses in when I push it. BUT because I don't have an auto opening boot the button when pressed does absolutely nothing!!

Why don't they blank it off and remove the button.

Same in the steering wheel, I have the buttons for adaptive cruise control, but I don't have adaptive cruise control so the buttons are just for "show". Volvo - take the buttons away.

Any other car I've ever had if the car hasn't got the spec, the buttons aren't included.
Same here Paulinyork...volvo I think have got it wrong in many ways. It is more like “up grade option-ready.” My previous car, a Honda HRV automatic SE. No confusing “dummy” buttons, straight forward manual, 3 specifications on that model - pick between S, SE and the top spec.

The boot button does not auto open the boot by lifting it, you’ll still have to “soft press” the boot button to open.

Cruise control? Haven’t used it yet....

Checked, the button does nothing. I'm thinking How can it, my tailgate doesn't have auto opening, so it isn't powered, just has gas struts.

Pressing, pressing and holding, does nothing. The button is a button, it even lights up, but I can't see what it's for. Anyone out there without the powered tailgate function have a functioning button, or is it really just for show?
Number6, it works just like the button on the fob, still have to “soft touch” to lift open the boot....yes! Have tried myslef...

Yes, agree, just like the fob. Unlocks without a sound, which was the reason I thought the internal button wasn't doing anything. It was only with an assistant trying the hatchback from outside that I could tell it was doing anything !!

Changing the intermittent wiper setting on the RH stalk appears to change the sensitivity of the automatic wipers.

Failing that am I imagiining this?

That's exactly what that is for. However the symbol on it is counter-intuitive.
More rain drops (3) means it'll wipe faster (higher intensity)
While less drops (1) means it'll wipe at a slower rate

It seems this rate is also correlated to driving speed

The navigation window of the drivers display shows the layout of the individual lanes down in the right hand corner as you approach a multi lane junction. It's not specifically referenced in the manual and not that obvious when driving so of limited use but I only just noticed it.
