I’ve ordered a D3 Inscription Pro and have a confirmed factory date late October, ordered last week. They do seem to be scheduling them now.

Finally heard off Volvo, but only because I emailed their customer care team. I have a build date scheduled for early September, that’s all she could tell me. She told me the dealership was informed about this last week  6 months from ordering to build, hope it’s worth the wait!

I have just been informed by the driver that mine is being delivered by transporter around 8.30 tomorrow morning!
I apologise to all of you with a long wait still, hopefully the time will go quickly and I'm sure the car will be worth the wait.

I received a delivery date (to dealership) last week of 12 July for my D3 order placed 1st March. I'd had no date of any sort up until last week. Bit of pot luck I think around date ordered and how that then fits with the build slots + variant mix, extras etc. Mass of orders hit factory on 1st March (first date for non FE orders to hit factory) so although maybe only a week or two difference in order date, probably thousands already in queue.

I saw sc55s post re emissions thing but it also indicated it was about to clear.

Also, saw another post from someone local to Ghent who mentioned summer factory shutdown period which obviously wouldn't help things. They mentioned July/August. I had a look at comments in the past and read about August shutdowns for 2-3 weeks. I'd be amazed with the current demand if they did that but no idea if it's a traditional holiday period where everyone is on leave regardless.

When XC40 went into initial test productions in September last year they actually went on strike https://newmobility.news/2017/09/14/str ... agreement/ There's probably all sorts of sensitivities going on. We all want our cars and Volvo I'm guessing would like to push things along quicker (more shifts etc.) but then also workers situation and quality control (they wanted workers to shave a few seconds off each car https://newmobility.news/2017/09/12/vov ... o-seconds/)

Called in a dealer (not my own) while travelling yesterday just for a chat and to get an update on how deliveries & sales were going. Seemed to be a very fluid supply scenario.

For example they had two cars that had just been switched from dealer/internal orders to be made available for customers. One non-FE basic R-Design in Crystal White with 19” wheels and no headlamp washers had just been sold, and a basic Inscription with 18” wheels in Onyx Black which was immediately available!
Two XC40s - so far! Inscription Pro T5 AWD Auto - Glacier Silver/Blond/21”, fully loaded, from Jan thro Sep 2021. Polestarred. :) Also one of the first FEs - a D4 AWD Auto - Bursting Blue/Charcoal/20" from Mar thro Aug 2018. Also Polestarred. :o

Can you cancel? I think I'll be losing my deposit if I try and I'm tempted (fed up!).
