They have had a cancelation of a car so they asked if I wanted it...I said yes....

Same spec but it now includes the headlight washers and 20" wheels.

New delivery date 27/28th May

That's great news and puts you back closer to your original date too.

Hi All

Ordered mine on March 18th and originally told del end of May, had a call Friday to be told now it is November the 21st!!!!
To say I was gutted was an understatement.

I'm afraid I'm in this club too!!

Ordered on the 28th of Feb and originally told to expect delivery by mid May, have now been told possibly July! Dealer was supposed to call me today to confirm... not a squeak out of them all day.

I got a call saying they still believe all First Editions will be delivered by June.

I'm sceptical so I did look at an Audi Q2 yesterday which is £10k less and got all the bits. Still rather have an xc40.

I’m sceptical on that too. If the FE had special badging or some components that made it unique I might believe them but the FE is just an R-Design Pro with option boxes ticked. I’m more inclined to believe it’s one or more of those options common to all FEs that are in shortage and they will prioritise those configurations that they do have the parts for. I know that leather/nubuck has been in short supply with another manufacturer...

Wise decision. £10k less? Just configured a Q2 with all the bells and whistles of an XC40 FE, and it came to almost £43k.

I was on the verge of ordering a Q2, then test drove the XC40 and was in a massive dilemma for a few days! After discussion with the Volvo dealer and hearing that the First Edition window had been reopened for a few days, that swung me straight to the ‘40. Much more kit for lower monthly cost, just a shame the delivery delays are putting a bit of a dampener on the experience!
