Hello folks,

I'm new here and patiently waiting for mine to be built and delivered, in the meantime I ordered a 3 data SIM card and what do Volvo do.....

https://www.volvocars.com/uk/about/our- ... -big-data/

Anyone want to buy a SIM card :D

Oh well, the Three SIM I’m running can stay in there until the first service.
See the Volvo offering only lasts a year though.

Just messaged my dealer to see if the car really has to be booked in to the service dept, or whether it can be posted out for customer installation.

Same here, bought a SIM card a couple of days ago and just found out about this via AutoExpress!

Update: had a reply almost instantaneously from the salesman whom I dealt with (Carlisle). They have just received their SIM cards from Volvo, and will be distributing them asap. The press release says the cars need booked in for fitting, but it is really easy to install at home. Well done Volvo (and Lloyds).

So if you have a MY2019 bought this year do you miss out?

Perhaps they will offer it as an accessory for earlier cars. Presumably there would be no advantage to us '19ers unless the price was better than the data SIM deals available on the general market?

Ayrshire XC90: The press release (see link above) seems to suggest that its only MY20 cars supplied after 31 July that will benefit from the free SIM. I picked up my XC40 on 12 July. Are you suggesting that I can go back to my dealer and they will (at Volvo's expense) supply me with one? I have to say I don't have much faith in my dealer, so would like to know where I stand before I approach them...

I picked up mine in June and got the SIM fitted today. Mine was the first MY20 delivery batch.
