I brought my first Volvo at the age of 27 and now in my late 40's.
My first was a Volvo S40, followed by a V50 R Design estate and now driving a V40 R Design and now playing a waiting game, hopefully not to long.
Other makes of vehicle where Volkswagen & BMW, company cars and out of my control (don't mean to offend anyone).
I'm Volvo through & through
Volvo - An "old man's car" no more!?
I'm 24. This is my first Volvo, always wanted a C70 convertible and a V40 but they were too dated by the time I could afford one new.
Had Ford, BMW and Honda before

Well there's been nearly 30 more votes cast since yesterday and this has lead to a bit of a swing towards younger owners. The poll seems to show quite a good spread of ages although the median age is still somewhere in the 40-50 group. This suggests to me that Volvo isn't exclusively an 'old man's car' anymore although I do wonder whether this was just a myth anyway; several of the posts suggests that there have always been quite a few younger owners.

First new car since retirement a few years ago, was about to go back to Toyota which I had done for the last 20 years a Hybrid Rav 4, but then the XC40 came out and replaced our Auris SR180 and the BMW Z3 2.2 with one incredibly advanced SUV. Can't understand anyone wanting to Polestar a T5, its quicker than a Cooper S already , how quick do you need to go in an SUV!
First Edition T5 20โ wheels not just a 245bhp 4x4 ipad.
I switched from a 4,5l v8 Porsche Cayenne S and to be honest the performance of my T5 Recharge is actually better in day to day driving (based on 36 hours with the car)
340hp vs 262hp but lower weight and higher torque in the XC40 wins without doubt.

First Volvo at 47.... always had them down as more of a farmer's car than an old man's car to be honest but saw a very handsome, sporty version owned by a farmer's daughter in her 20s and I guess that's when my head was turned (about 5 years ago) Not sure how I came across the XC40, think it was either a car mag or many trips around all the showrooms waiting for something to jump out at me amongst many bland SUVs.
