Did anyone consider any of these before opting for the xc40? I looked at the epace but thought it was overpriced when specced to match the xc40.

Considered the X1 (purely on performance), the EPace and DS didn't even enter the fray.

Looked at X1 and e-pace on web configurator and realised how much more than the XC40 first edition they cost for similar specifications. I have driven the e-pace and having seen the preview XC40 I’m still convinced I’ve made the right choice.

Drove an X1 (very disappointing ride and feel) and an X3 (very good, but lacking lots of features for the price c.f. the Volvo). Wouldn't touch a DS7 with that long stick thingy boatmen use. Had an ePace on order and drove one - not a bad test drive I must say, but it felt rather "snug" inside. As mentioned in other posts, when my ePace had its promised delivery slot put back 4 weeks +, I cancelled and ordered the XC40 having seen the example at Daventry in early December. No question that the Volvo has a wealth of extra features c.f. the ePace for the budget, and I am really keen on all the latest technology. Still to drive an XC40 of course. The more reviews I read the happier I become with my choice.
Two XC40s - so far! Inscription Pro T5 AWD Auto - Glacier Silver/Blond/21”, fully loaded, from Jan thro Sep 2021. Polestarred. :) Also one of the first FEs - a D4 AWD Auto - Bursting Blue/Charcoal/20" from Mar thro Aug 2018. Also Polestarred. :o
