Cross Traffic Alert Live test.

Hi All,

I found this video of someone doing a live test of the cross traffic alert system in their XC40.



Anyone had this system save them from an accident?

Last year I was reversing out of an undercover space in the local supermarket car park. I was on the end of a row and despite hazard lights reversing lights and normal car lights this didn’t stop a woman driver totally ignoring me being half way out when she came flying round the corner with absolutely no intention of stopping. (I know from regular use of that car park that the car was visible to her well before she turned the corner.). The car went into immediate lockdown and stopped dead even before I could hit the brake having seen her coming. The system works. It also goes off if pedestrians choose to walk behind you.

I've hard the alert go off when reversing out of a driveway. It is a very useful safety feature indeed.
