I'm a bit of a technophobe and as I got this car on a lease I have never had a Volvo dealer give me any guidance. So apologies if this seems such a silly question.

I have put some music on a USB, but cant work out to play it in the car! I looked at the instructions and it talks about using an APPS function which I don't see on my screen.

Can anyone advise pls?

I have a basic XC40 T3 68 plate.

Swipe to the app screen and there should be an button near the top of the screen for USB. That should start the music.

Thanks for the reply. I cant see an apps screen. Do I need to get an internet connection and download it?

OK now found out I need my phone in the car. Seems stupid to me to need phone, but OK now understood.

You don’t need your phone in the car to play music from a USB stick.
I think it might be wise for you to download the manuals from the Volvo website. There is information in there on how to operate the sound system along with all the other functions.

The manuals are built into the car, swipe down from the top of the screen.

The apps page is accessed by swiping from left to right on the sensus screen. Best hitting the home button under the screen first to make sure you’re starting in the right place. The swipe might be the other way around for left hand drive cars - I seem to remember a video showing that on YouTube.

I think you can also use the voice commands, something like, “play usb”.

Yes they are, but I prefer to read them on my laptop, feet up on the sofa with a glass of wine in my hand :)
Each to his/her own...
