Anyone help me with advice on the first year service. Just been on the phone to Volvo to see when I can get it booked in for the first service and got quoted £280 for the first service!
I thought that was quite steep compared to previous cars I’ve had. Anyone get quoted differently? Or maybe lucky enough to take out a service plan with the dealer.
Stuck on whether to pay it or just book it into Halfords....£280 for an oil change and pollen air filter! I know obviously I won’t get original Volvo parts or any software update but could save a fair chunk of money
Any advice would be great
First Year Service
Do you own the car? Are you planning on keeping it for a long time?
I can’t see a service from Halfords or anyone else being too different to Volvo IMHO. The oil will have to meet the specific requirement and the filters will be up to standard. £280 is excessive to say the least

I've been offered 3 years servicing for £399 on ordered car which seems a no brainer.
Yeah I’m going to go and see the dealer about getting a service plan, but afraid it may be too late

I suspect it'll never be too late for them to accept you as a 'locked in' customer for the next few years. I guess It may be a little bit more expensive monthly than it would've been if taken at purchase, as you'll have to make up the 4 years cost over 3 years (or whatever lengths of plan you choose), but at least you aren't going to get a big one-off bill every year.

I had the first service done at a Volvo dealer a few days ago. I would definitely recommend going to a Volvo dealer to get this service as the software update has really improved the stop/start system and the car is running much smoother. The 360 camera pictures are also clearer with new wheel direction indicators.
