Tracking an order

Happy New Year all. Does anyone now if Volvo have a tracking system customers can use. I have a build date and Factory order number. VW and MB both have one and I was wondering if Volvo had something similar.
Have an XC40 inscription on order since October

No. I asked my dealer about it - he said they used to have one but it caused dealers problems as it was always two weeks too pessimistic, and customers weren't prepared for changeover.

Now......why they binned it rather than fix it?????

I was hoping to for one too, but I came to the conclusion that there are too many parties to make an accurate one - manufacture, shipping, delivery to dealer, PDI, etc.

I asked UK Volvo Customer service the same question and they confirmed only the dealer can access the information. Checked yesterday my T4 inscription Pro is due on the 23rd Jan ordered in July - not long now :)

Does anyone know how accurate the dealers information is? Presumably they get this from some Volvo system but I've no idea if I should trust it.

I've been told my car is due to be delivered on the 14th, I've no idea how many days they will need for the PDI etc.

It's sort of frustrating not being able to plan because I need to get my old car booked in to have the dashcam removed (it's cheaper to pay them to remove it than to buy new cables!). I need to book the day off work as well!

Once the build date was given to my dealer, it was stuck to pretty well. I manage to speed up the delivery to me by a couple of days by being really pushy, but that was speeding up the PDI rather than manufacture - fat lot of good that did, the car arrived with bug scratches on the boot.
