Looks fantastic and a very fast order to delivery time. As your delivery date was end of October, did you effectively lose one month of car tax or is there a way around this?

Swings and roundabouts with the car tax - you loose a month on the new and refunded a month on the old - expect your 1st tax reminder mid September 2022

All swings but no roundabouts for me, old car was £30 a year, new one is £500!

To be fair to dealer, I wanted the car by end of last week as I was driving 230 miles to collect and it was my week off. Any later and I would have struggled to collect.

They would have delivered but I wanted to put those first miles on myself!

Picked up my new xc40 inscription pro b4 last Tuesday 26th,and dealer taxed car for extra week,so I have 12 months and 1 weeks car tax!,this process can be done only on brand new vehicles!,I wasn’t aware of this,luckily I brought it it up in conversation with dealer regarding handover,as I said I would wait until 1st November for full 12 months tax and he explained they could apply for extra weeks tax so I could have it on the 26th!!,so I also benefited regarding car tax refund on previous car!

That’s great news. I was going to ask to wait until the beginning of the month for mine but know dealer will want the car sold within the month (January) so it is good to know there’s a way around it.

The refund is only full months outstanding, if you hand in say 1st November, you won't get November refunded.
