Ordered! Hybrid Inscription Pro, but stuck on colour?!?!

Ordered a hybrid Inscription Pro with all the packages and some options. For now we have selected Denim Blue with Amber Leather. But I am still not sure. Surprised that this model year, the XC40 has such a limited colour choice to choose from (I remember my XC60 before, we have a pretty good selection but that was nearly 10 years back!).

- We don't want black.
- Wife doesn't want white as too many white cars with family and friends.
- Wife and kids don't want black leather.
- Blonde leather impractical.
- Personally not convinced about amber leather.
- Oxide Red my preferred choice but due to the above restrictions, only Thunder Grey left, not convinced with this (I would have loved Pine or Osmium but this is no longer available).

Probably have to have a look around dealers etc and see the colours in real life as the pictures online vary so much. Either way we have until around mid-Dec to iron out the colour details. Roll on February for delivery!

Have Thunder Grey with, R Design, black roof. Very happy with choice. Seems to change colour with light, blueish grey in sunlight, greyish grey in other lights.

Hi I have inscription in Thunder Grey with Red oxide leather as UserRof XC40 says colour changes with light really nice and the red leather relieves the dark interior. There are some pictures of car and interior on here somewhere

Thanks - went through and found the pictures. On my monitor (and via the phone), the interior looks quite red (like a deep traffic light red). Would you say in typical daylight, its more a deeper orangey red (hence the oxide)? Trying to think of an every day item to describe it but failing!

I have black leather, it's quite good I think. Better than I thought it would be.

Completely understand your frustration with the colours - considering the great design of the XC40 and Volvo's marketing, I am quite surprised they have so few options. The fact that some the colours (such as fusion red) are not even available for Inscription is actually what made me order a Momentum pro.

From the Inscription options, for me the best one is the Denim Blue, the problem is that here in Belgium every singe Inscription XC40 is Denim Blue  Still, I think that amber interior (if charcoal is too dark for you) with denim blue is a good choice. Amber is a bit too yellowish for me but have to say that on the XC90 of a friend of mine it looks a lot more premium than the charcoal. Keep in mind though, that if you have selected the panoramic roof, it would, to some extent, save you from the darkness of the charcoal interior (that is what I did).

The photos were taken on a sunny day and on my monitor (used for photoshop) the red is not orangey it is lighter than post box red I find it a pleasant shade of red maybe a little bit like a muted poppy red. I think you may have to see a sample at a dealer to make your mind up good luck

I really like my amber interior, lighten the mood inside I think, and looks really smart. Personally, if I couldn’t have pine,I would have had denim blue.
