Hi XC40 Forum, very happy to be a member.
We are currently reviewing options on an XC40 Inscription pro T4 FWD adding, intellisafe pro, android auto, spare wheel and possibly the xenium pack. Was wondering how T4 owners are finding the 190hp engine overall preformance? Obvisouly the FWD is a realitively new option. I have also seen some comments on the forum about noise from the sunroof? Is it worth adding? Any general feedback, i am happy to hear.
Thanks, Chris

Hi had my T4 R Design for 5 weeks now absolutely no issues with the sun roof let’s lots of light inside the car. My car stands outside on the drive and through all the heavy rain over the last few weeks no water has entered the roof as some other members have mentioned. Another issue that pops up frequently is T4 fuel consumption my version is AWD and the average consumption over 540 miles has been 34.5mpg. As for performance I find it accelerates quickly up to motorway speed and Cruises effortlessly you won’t be disappointed with the T4 engine.

Thanks Trevor. Thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear your XC40 is running well without any bother also that the t4 engine ticks all the boxes. I have read the consumption comments and have decided to go for the FWD for the saving and the simple fact that majoirty of the day to day driving will be city based.

I am one with a sunroof noise. Very annoying.

Personally I won’t spec one myself in the future. Lovely for light but just not worth the cost IMO.

A great car overall though.

Sunroof is a matter of personal choice.

I’m fortunate not to have had any issues with either leaks or noise, or indeed any other problems with the car.

I’ve never seen the point of a sunroof. If my FE hadn’t come with it fitted as standard I certainly wouldn’t have spent money on having it as an option.
Why would I want the sun beating down on my bald head or reflecting off the instruments and facias, heating up the cabin fighting against the cooling effect of the aircon? Why drive with a big gaping hole above your head creating unnecessary noise?
The cabin is plenty bright enough as it is, Windows all round see to that!
Just not my thing I’m afraid but each to his/her own I guess ;)

I'm very much of the same mind. My sun roof had been ordered by the dealer on a demonstrator and I would never have chosen it left to my own devices. But then I tipped it just open at 70mph on a day with strong sunshine heating up the car and the air con somehow not really doing it. To my surprise there was virtually no extra noise and the gentle flow of cooling fresh air was a very pleasant experience. If they are all like that I am a convert.

No leaks so far thank goodness and I hope it stays that way. These things seem to have a habit of failing at 3 years and a day.

My thoughts exactly, The sunroof will probably never be opened during my period of ownership. In fact on the FE there are all kind of extras that I wouldn't have payed for, but when I priced up an R-Design with only the features I wanted it was going to cost more than the FE. A no-brainer really.
