Hi y'all.

Real name is Carl, ordered T4 Inscription Pro on 13/12/2008, expected to arrive in UK before end of March - collection early April.

Following a disappointing wait for a VW Tiguan, ordered in August but, not sure whether it would ever be built &, following VW's attitude to the whole situation, I no longer fancied owning a VW & I therefore jumped ship to Volvo.

To be honest, I can't, for the life of me, remember why the hell I didn't order the Volvo in the 1st place. Ironically, I think I was put off by the lead times

Anyhoos, having had my fingers burnt once, I vowed to find a dealer that was on the ball & who had delivery slots already confirmed. Serendipity ensued as my local dealer had two orders in the system for March/April delivery - shook hands on a deal & cancelled my Tiguan order.

XC40 is, by far, the better car in so many ways. However, I will miss the fold-flat front passenger seat & DLA headlights (VW equivalent of Volvo AST) - but the looks (both exterior & interior) of the XC40 will more than make up for it......plus buying into a new model rather than one in its twilight years :)

Hi I did exactly the same cancelled my 2.0tsi after numerous date changes and no sign of a delivery date ordered mine in October delivery beginning of February Like you I believe I have chosen the better car. Extra bonus is the residual values on the XC40 are much better. I didn’t get the chance to drive the car with the T4 engine but most people that have them already seem quite pleased good luck with your purchase and I hope all goes well .

Hi Trev. Yep, you & I are probably part of a fairly large (& growing) gang.

The 2.0 TSI orders were never going to be accepted by the factory until Feb' 2019 and, once the word got out that the (already WLTP approved) 230 engine was to be made available in the UK, I started to doubt whether the 190 would ever see the light of day.

Had the Tiguan been a vastly superior car, I might have waited to see what transpired..............as it was, I thought the XC40 was, on balance, the better car + I really, really, didn't want to own a VW anymore.
