As long as there isn't a fault there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to get the steering wheel dead straight. As well as setting the alignment correctly they should adjust both sides until the steering wheel is in the correct position. Obviously this can't be done by moving the steering wheel on the splines as that gives too coarse a movement.

Not sure if this is correct but I read on another forum that the alignment/steering wheel position process should take account of the camber though of course on steeply camberred roads and the middle lane of a motorway the steering wheel position will change.

Since day one I have the same problem. The Volvo dealer tried twice and so did a specialized tyre dealer to fix it. But it did not work. I have given up on this.

I got 3 times all wheels alignment by a tyre specialist within the first year...These new cars just don’t do...lost setting after a few potholes...
