Thought I would post under a new thread as the subject has been raised for at least a couple of different reasons.

My dealer’s guru has just let me know how to find it!

Move the seat all the way forward. Raise the rear of it as high as possible. Open the rear door. You will then see the black plastic box on the floor under the seat. It has a clip on top to open it rearwards.

Yes Boomer - it’s the one we thought was inaccessible without lifting the carpet.

For those Parking Heater aficionados on here, fuse 7 is missing (of course)!

Well done pjm007!
If only I had my XC40 I’d be out on the drive right now with my multimeter tracing which fuse(s) switch on/off with the ignition. That will sort out the dashcam supply...

Thx all for indicating the location of fuse box. May I ask which fuses should we use to hardware the dashcam?

Hi all, just joined this excellent forum.

I successfully wired a Nextbase 512 dash cam by piggy backing off the heated steering wheel fuse in the underseat fuse box. Had planned to use the 12v socket fuse but the shape of my piggy back holder meant it could not fit in that location because adjacent fuses got in the way.

Isn't that (position 53) a 15A fuse? Not sure which way round your piggy back works but feels like something is at risk - e.g steering wheel heating tripping out? [Non-electrician speaking !!]

I was thinking of the Nextbase 512 some time back. Any chance you might be able to put up some pic's as to how the camera positions on the windscreen? Can you still work the passenger sun visor unimpeded? Thanks

The piggy back fuse connectors I use plug into the existing socket. The connectors have two sockets at right angles to the original. The original fuse is inserted in one of them and this completes the original circuit. The other socket serves the wire coming out of the connector to which you connect the dashcam power supply. You insert a fuse suitable for the dashcam e.g. 5amp into this socket.
Consequently It doesn’t matter what the rating of the original fuse...
