I was going to wait till my "3 month" healthcheck and ask them to show me. Don't think it's unreasonable as I would expect to be able to find and replace a fuse if needed to.

But my 3m check is not till mid-July so perhaps too late for others.
It’s very easy to locate the fuse box. No matte your XC40 is LHD or RHD. The cabin fuse box is in under the left seat of front row. Simply move the seat all the way forward and and also lift it up the seat to the most.

Now, go to the second row of left seat to check under the front row left seat. And u will find a little black cover with a rectangle (not exact a rectangle) shape. Open it. And there u go!!!!!!

For various reasons I dont want to hard wire a dash cam into my XC40 (when I get it) that leaves me with the option of using the lighter socket or the OBD-11 port. As this port should only be used when servicing it seems like the ideal solution to me and keeps the cabling tidy.

I note that OBD-11 power cables are readily available

Has anybody fitted a dash cam using the OBD-11 port and did you have any problems?

Has anybody who fitted a dash cam had any interference from it ?

If not what camera have you fitted ? I am tempted by the Blackvue but not willing to spend all that money if it is going to affect the car electronics.

When I picked mine up I had a discusion with the sales guys and they say that Volvo dont advise putting a dash cam in as it is liable to interfere with the onboard electronics.

I cant understand why with all the on board cameras it isnt standard.

I fitted the thinkware f800 pro front and rear camera just after I got my xc40. I can report no issues whatsoever with any interference or any other problems.

Thanks for that, I was looking at the Blackview but if the F800 is problem free I will have a look at that.

Thanks once again I have gone for the same.

I used Chameleon Direct.

If anybody wants a code then CHAM10 will give you 10% of your website purchase and FIT5 will give 5% on fitting

Using BlackVue 950 Front and Back cam connecting to cigar plug. No problem so far. And I have managed to hide the wire for the back camera. Will try to do hardwire from fuse box next month, then I can have a clean installation.
