My car has 1350 and claims there are no updates. I'm just downloading 1353 onto a USB stick on my PC now - there's 2.64GB, so perhaps it's considered too large for OTA installation?
Cheers,

1353 update ballooned above 2GB for several geographic areas, downloading OTA via car modem is no longer possible.
Next planned update (1354?) is listed for 13/09/21.

Yes, that must be the case with my area as well, it's more than 2.5GB in size. Nevermind, the USB update works fine with me, although I'll be waiting for the next Monday update.

Why does a file size more than 2GB make it no longer possible to update OTA?

My car is happily installing the update after having downloaded the update OTA. This is without doing anything other than having enabled auto updates.

It’s seams related to some data download limit in the car's modem. I can only assume the reason, either to avoid PSIM monthly data plan depletion, or to ensure large data transfer stability through the USB port.

Until now, I was always able to update OTA but updates were below 1GB. Suddenly, version 1353 doubled in size, I really wonder what information was added…

I am not experiencing any download limit in the car’s modem and have already downloaded the update.

Some forum members are affected by update size limit for OTA. May I ask which area did you download? There are geographical areas for which 1353 update is still below 1GB. Thanks!

Volvo’s technical journal from 2019 does specify OTA limits. Maybe this explains why some of us are unable to download OTA the latest 2GB+ map updates.
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/ ... 0-9999.pdf

“With the latest IHU software that was released December 2nd, 2019, the Over-the-Air (OTA) map update limit for map segment (regional) upgrades has been increased from 500MB to 950MB. This will allow larger updates to be performed over-the-air and reduce the need for the customer to upgrade the complete base map via USB on a monthly basis. TJ 31543 contains instructions on how to install the latest software (IHU software is included in the Total Upgrade/Service 2.0/PDS Upgrade packages).”
