Has anyone actually purchased this £700 ish extra?

Various threads previously. One recent example below. Current offer price is £595.

I have Polestar on my T5 Recharge. It was added to the car before delivery (from memory about £595) so I have no experience without it. I generally use 'Pure' or 'Hybrid' modes and only 'polestar' when I can plan an overtake well in advance. The car certainly shifts in this mode but I guess it was no slouch without it? Was it worth it? Probably not!

Does it increase your insurance?

I had the Polestar upgrade done to my T5 First Edition after owning it for about a year, I had mine done with the offer of a free 14 day money back trial. I wasn't sure so I spoke to the dealer for more information as at the time the cost was £595, and that's a lot of money and if it didn't make much difference then what's the point.
The dealer explained that the upgrade improves all of the driving modes including comfort mode, they had done a lot of upgrades under this offer and no one had returned for their money back.
In my opinion it was worth having done, the mid range revs is where it works best and when you select the Polestar mode it really does go.
With regards to the insurance I had to pay an admin charge to add this to my policy, however on renewal it made no difference to the cost of the policy, I'm insured with Admiral.
hope this helps.

Sounds like a fun upgrade for the more discerning driver. Worth every penny 😁

I bought a little black box off eBay that connects to the wires for the mass flow sensor , it certainly seems a lot more perky and I do feel there is a difference before after and I have had my recharge for 18 months 27,000 miles
