Hi Everyone,
I have today had the window guide trim on the drivers door replaced on my ( just) 1 year old XC40. The trim had warped and bowed out so that the rubber strip no longer made an effective seal, apparently this is a known fault as a current active TSB exists.
Worth checking if there are any signs of this on your vehicles as I didn't notice it immediately ,it seems the distortion is a gradual process.

Brilliant. Thanks for your reply. I will keep an eye on my passenger front window. Noticed today that the top bit has a small bulge.

Yes that’s how mine looked, it was done under warranty as there is an active TSB (in the U.S. ) that describes this as a fault. The service operator at the dealership still tried to imply he did me a favour by allowing this to go through as a warranty claim…..yeah right!

I have the same problem. My car is just a year old. Took to Volvo and says it’s not a manufacturing fault! Service report says that trim is bent hence it has come loose , with a noteiy can be replaced but may happen again and I have yo pay. Now, just found it’s quite a common thing. Not really happy with Volvo service experience at all for a lot of reasons!
We spotted this on the near side rear door about 2 weeks after picking up my xc40 BEV. The wife noticed it after we went to collect car from charging in a public car park and thought someone had tried to get in. I’ve pushed it back into shape and seems to be fine now. Will keep an eye open for it.
