Can, and has anyone added a sim card to their XC40? What advantages does it have (the SatNav on my 6 month old R-design seems to work on a separate gps system as my car is not internet enabled).

Alt I guess I could use my phone as a hotspot for the car to connect to, but I’m less keen to chew through my data package.

thanks!

There are a couple of discussions on this already, many of us do have the P-Sim installed. Do a search for p-sim or psim there's a lot of good information in those discussions.

GPS systems are nothing to do with the internet. The car positions itself against satellites that circle the earth.

By installing a SIM the map can access live traffic data.
You can also use the data in the various apps available, such as Spotify. The car can also act as a hotspot supplying data to a phone, tablet or laptop.
