XC40 EV Charging

I'm considering ordering the T4 PHEV. I was thinking of just keeping the 3 pin plug option rather than paying for the option to change it to the type 2. My thoughts were I can use this when visiting family and plug the car into their standard plug socket.

I do have a outdoor plug socket at home but was thinking of having a dedicated EV charging point fitted with tethered cable. I can then use this to charge at home and keep the 3pin cable in the car for use when away from home (mainly when visiting family). Does this seem logical?

Yes. i’ve got both cables. I use the three pin one all the time and have only used the type 2 cable a couple of times at public charging points, which honestly are more trouble than they are worth on most occasions.
