The memory function for the rain sensor can be activated in such a way that the rain sensor button
does not need to be depressed each time the car is started:
1. Press Settings in the top view in the centre display.
2. Press My Car Wipers.
3. Select Rain Sensor Memory to activate/deactivate the memory function.

This is from the MY19 owners manual

Stu22 it would be interesting to see a pic of your screen with this on for comparison. Maybe it differs by Model year or model type.
So, just took it round the estate and YES! rain sensor icon is visible (along with lane keeping assist icon). :D Bit weird that Stu22's is different.

Thanks all.

FYI, it appears MY20 instructions for memory settings are the same as MY19.

I can only select the rain sensing wipers with the wipers switched off...ie not on intermittent. pressing the button on the side of the stalk only took effect when the wipers were totally switched off. Took me a while to work out how to make them work but got there in the end.

Mine does that if I have Lane Keep Assist active, turn lane keep off and you should just see the rain sensor alone.

Aaahh, never turned that off. I rarely drive the car to be fair, prefer 2 wheels to 4.
