After everyone's comments on here I'll continue hand washing. I actually find it quite therapeutic.

Life's too short for cleaning cars - said and heard often
but guess it depends on preference - guess some like just like filth and others prefer clean

avoid automatic wash for your car at all costs, I know you want to clean the car without effort, but you will regret it in the long run

I enjoy doing ours and have got our good neighbour doing his more now
