Re: Roof bar length

I am impressed ! Please keep us informed.

By the way, and also @Mikeg1 : my wife was right (isn’t she always?). It’s indicated on the underside of the bars which one is front or rear, and which side of each bar is left side.

Re: Roof bar length

Might be a wild guess. But if there's a difference between F and R, I'd not be surprised if the R were longer. I say this because I used to reverse park using the car front and a parallel wall as a guide, and got it consistently wrong. Now I use the camera guidance lines and edging strips on the gr...

Re: Roof bar length

Hi all, been a very quiet stay on here since buying our XC40 - nothing really to complain about as the wife uses it most of the time and I enjoy driving it. Sure there are some niggles but on the whole a very good car. I've recently picked up some genuine XC90 roof bars that were too cheap to pass ...

Re: Roof bar length

Thanks for the replies. The bars I have are the genuine Volvo ones, which differ to all styles of Thule ones - they are a hybrid of the wing bar and wing bar edge in profile and fitting. @KeithR56 thank you for the offer, however these will not be the correct length as the OEM Volvo ones are shorte...

Re: Has anyone used a wireless carplay adapter?

It’s a bit of an enigma : the « Compatible Vehicle Models List » states that the Volvo XC40 2016-2022 is compatible, but at the same time, it says that « Carlinkit 4.0 is not suitable for Volvo ». I think you better contact the Carlinkit company : you’ll find the e-mail address on their website.

Re: Itching after handling parcel shelf

If related to the under bonnet sound deadening (where fitted) the pricking could be caused by fish bones ! Ah yes, fish bones…. Possibly even more true : just as the under bonnet insulation, the parcel shelf could be made of Econyl, made from recycled nylon by the Danish company Plastix. BMW is usi...

Re: Roadside failure

@ KeithR56 - I would not call anyone stupid, love to banter, but would never be personal like that - rolling the eyes was in recognition of a single word like 'poor' having such different meanings and how often they can be seen as such - just to finish on my reasoning I don't like 3-pot engines (ho...

Nous sommes en France, en vacance. Found out that dials auto change to km, tho Nav distances have to be changed in car system units. Also Mrs Sensus can't pronounce "toll booth". Best she can manage is "tll bth" 🤦🏻‍♂️ Car otherwise behaved impeccably on a 650 mile run. Bonnes va...

I’m told that all good things are made in Kingston-upon-Hull indeed.
But we’re talking USB sticks.
For those, it’s Kingston-upon-Shenzhen.
