Re: XC 40 Service Plan
I got the email from Allianz within a week of collecting the car (November 2018). This was for the 5 year plan. The email had 3 attachments which I printed off as a precaution. These attachments were a Certificate of Entitlement, Terms and Conditions, and a covering letter. When I took the car for i...

Add in a Brillo pad for tar spots and stubborn grime and you've got it all sorted.USERof XC40 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 9:33 pm I tend to use a bucket of warm water with a splash of washing up liquid (Fairy Liquid is recommended), once a year, whether it's dirty or not.

It's called mood lighting because its total uselessness puts you in a bad mood.

Re: Engine starting issue T4
I've not had this with my T4 in 10 months and 5000 miles. I agree with ChrisLF about contacting the dealer. In the meantime you can avoid any safety concerns by disabling the stop/start function at the beginning of every journey. Remember that if you switch to Eco mode during a journey it will re-en...

Re: Paint scratch help!
I would certainly not use the dealer. Dealers tend to use a local 'SMART' repair service and add their own mark-up. Chips-away and similar 'SMART' repairers are likely to do a much better job than you could do yourself but much depends on the skill of the individual operator so ask around for recomm...

Re: Just Collected My Car - Have Some Questions
Re. point 2. It could be the stop/start system. If you are inching slowly towards something the 'stop' function will activate if you briefly halt the car on the brakes. Then, you lift the brake slightly, the 'start' function kicks in with a surge and you jolt forward (or backwards) further and faste...

'10 out of ten for collision avoidance. A real life saver. Or is that Sensus, the driver interface that's so dangerous it has to have a collision avoidance add on?'
I would say the latter. I'm starting to think of it as the 'senseless' interface...

So, assuming the flag arrives first, you will actually be attaching the car to the flag.

Re: Waiting for September number plate
One thing is certain: It won't be worth less in future due to being on a newer plate. Unless it's causing you hassle or costing you money to wait I'd definitely go for the new plate. No downside risk, and possible upside of a few hundred quid 3 years from now.

Re: Consumer Credit Act 1974
A lot of household insurance policies provide a free legal helpline to give advice in respect of consumer law. Some policies also have legal expenses insurance. Citizens Advice Bureau (available online) may also be able to give general consumer contract advice.
