Re: Volvo Extended Warranty via Car Care Plan - Any views?
Don’t think it is worth the worry about things going wrong once warranty runs out, otherwise the second hand market would collapse. Far more cost to change car after 3 years as this period is when the greatest loss is incurred due to depreciation. That and the added fact not everyone is in the fort...

Re: Volvo Extended Warranty via Car Care Plan - Any views?
Going back to Warranties; my neighbour recently had the infotainment screen fail on their 2018 BMW 5 Series, cost £3500 to replace. It appears it would be covered by a Kia Warranty but not a Toyota warranty. Clearly with Volvo and most other manufacturers you're on your own too at that age. With my...

Re: Parking brake not always applied!
Mine behaves exactly like JFDITs as well so I think that is the way it is designed. I've had it apply randomly when not using Autohold, I guess due to it being on a slight slope, but can't rely on it so use Autohold when turning the engine off or manually apply Parking Brake. Not being able to choos...

Re: Wading Depth and Brown Trousers…
Parking sensors are 550mm above ground level. It seems the 450mm wading depth was exceeded during your crossing, hopefully there was no damage done to the engine. The sensors will be reading out at an angle so will pick up the water if within the distance that they will pick up other objects I guess?

Re: Volvo Extended Warranty via Car Care Plan - Any views?
Absolutely. The US and elsewhere get recalls for things we don't and of course there is the lemon law. We seem to be far more at the mercy of the manufacturers in the UK. Didn't realise until the other day when doing a search that the 3 year/60k. warranty is said to be an EU directive and unsurprisi...

When I come to change my car I shall be looking at the driver "aids" in a lot more detail!

Re: Volvo Extended Warranty via Car Care Plan - Any views?
Comments on the forums say that the new 3 year/60k. + extensions warranty isn't as good as the previous 5 year/100k. warranty as from year 4 onwards the level of cover is reduced as stated by others. The full 5 year warranty would have suited me. Any warranty is better than none but it doesn't have ...

Re: XC40 Configuration MY25 Changes?
Gripross - looks like it was good that you got your Ultimate when you did as some of the high gloss black on the exterior has gone - roof rails (now bright aluminium), some of the side window trim (now chrome), radiator surround (now bright aluminium) and door mirrors (now body colour). I’m glad I ...

Re: Volvo Extended Warranty via Car Care Plan - Any views?
Indeed. I don't intend keeping my car longer than 3 years because of the warranty which is when I usually change anyway. A longer warranty would be good though to give more flexibility including delivery times. I assume that the level of warranty remains the same during the 10 years for Toyota/Lexus...
