Re: Volvo smart repair on car purchase

The servicing offer is a no-brainer - assuming you are planning to keep the car for 5 years.

Re: Huge rear-view mirror assembly

I've only driven our XC40 a few times (we've only had it a few weeks) but every time I drive it I am initially alarmed at the lack of view caused by the mirror housing.

However, once I've been driving 5 minutes, I don't even see it.

So, over time, I think I'll get used to it.

Re: Sat Nav in Driver Display

I took delivery of an XC40 Inscription Pro last week and I have exactly the same problem. I had a test drive in an R Design a couple of months ago and it definitely had the map on the driver display when no destination was entered. However on my new car, the map is displayed only when a destination...

Re: B4/B5 'mild hybrids'; why?

Looks like if I want to buy a new larger-engined XC40, I'm stuck with the B5 engine, not a T5. I've read everything I can find on 'mild hybrid' and also compared the Volvo stats on the XC40 T5 vs. B5. I am confused. All the reviews on 'mild hybrid' I can find say it is no more than an enhanced Star...

Re: New car insurance

My dealer was annoyingly pushy about the free drive-away insurance. I said I didn't want it - as I already organised it myself. They tried a few times to get me to take it, so I assume there is some commission involved. The dealer no longer needs to get any insurance documents to tax the vehicle. I'...

Re: SIM card - again

I collected my car on Thursday. Today, I tried to set up the internet connection - only to discover the SIM card is not fitted. Spoke to the 'salesman'. His response was "Oh yeah, we don't fit the SIM card as most people don't want it because they use the data on their phone".... Not impre...

Re: Build Times

We ordered our Inscription Pro (T3) on 8th July and we've not heard a peep out of the dealer, other than the 3 month estimate when we ordered. We phoned them 2 weeks ago and were told they have not yet been allocated a build week :( That sounds very fishy... When I ordered mine, the dealer told me ...

Re: Build Times

Update to my earlier post stating three months for an Inscription Pro! 😐 My salesman told me this when I ordered and that’s the last I heard from him. Not a single update and I was determined this time not to chase. With my due date only a couple of weeks away, I thought I’d better wake the dealer ...

Re: Amber or Charcoal interior?

It's a personal choice but I can't imagine a red car with the amber interior. In fact one of the reasons I chose Inscription rather than R-Design was to get a lighter interior (headlining etc), having grown to dislike the black/black/black feeling in my Audi Q3. Having said that, I think the Fusion ...
