Re: Stupid Sat Nav

If only Volvo had included a physical rotary switch to adjust the zoom level, rather than relying on the two-fingered pinch trick, which invariably needs a few attempts to get the desired level of map detail, for me anyway. Come to think of it, it would have been good if Volvo had adopted the VW Gro...

Re: Market Research

It would be great if you referred them to this forum during your session.......I have to say it’s the most rational and useful one I’ve ever joined, and refreshingly (almost!) free from “fake news”.#

Re: £350 refund delay

In my case I chased the salesman several times over about 6 weeks with no reply, then discovered (after involving Volvo Customer Support) that he had left the dealership (Sturgess Leicester) just after I took delivery of the car. Once I made contact with the new salesman however, he pushed the £350 ...

Re: City safe - how often?

My City Safe warning light has triggered twice in 2,000 miles, each time when approaching.a vehicle parked in a lay-by. Both times the road was curving away from the lay-by, so presumably the XC40 thought it was heading direct for the parked car. In neither instance was automatic brake actuation als...

Re: Sensus to mobile data connection

What kind of phone are you trying to connect? With an iPhone (I don't know about Android), you'll need to manually re-establish the connection each time. Although I've got loads of data on my phone, it's for that reason I plan to get a cheap SIM for the car as well - too much hassle hot-spotting th...

Do the voice commands work for postcodes? It's the most annoying thing about Siri's maps - that it doesn't.
Yes, voice commands for postcodes work well, for me, anyway.

Re: Eco Drive dial - Does anyone understand it?

No worries early adopter - the manual isn't much help in answering your questions anyway! As far as I can make out, the gauge is a glorified vacuum gauge (remember them?) as it does seem to vary with throttle opening. However, there are a few added gizmos which seem to be of limited value: The littl...
