Useful to know.
My wife and I share the same key but when we go away we take the other key as a backup. It's taken in its shielded pouch and will continue to be so after reading this!

As the finance is provided by a separate company/lender that is all they are interested in and doubt they notify Volvo of early settlement. Given that, it still doesn't stack up that the car now with the dealer was your original order? Doubt you will ever get to the bottom of it.
