Re: On Call / SOS buttons - ever used them?
Had to use in my partners car after the gearbox failed on a country road. They answered quickly, got a recovery truck to her very quickly, and had a hire car dropped off a couple of hours later. Cannot fault the service or convenience.

Re: Steering noise
That is dry friction noise from the springs sitting in the top suspension rubber mounting when the car is under full load i.e moving the steering whilst the car is stationary - if the wheels were off the ground - no noise. Spray with a silicon spay then all good. I don't dry steer. That was beaten ...

Re: Good evening.
Hello Snow Man. Hope you're enjoying your new car! To get full functionality you will need a VOC subscription. If you open the app and go to the car details section at the bottom of that page should be details of your subscription. I'm not sure what subscription would apply to your situation though,...

Re: Steering noise
Thanks for the video. Turns out I've had that noise since new. Back to the dealer again.Dermottdog wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 9:55 am Here’s my noise. As I already said, sprayed the top suspension mounts with bike chain lube and it got rid of it. https://youtube.com/shorts/zrJgWYi0h1w?feature=share

Re: XC40 Fuel figures 1st year of ownership
As for MPG I get between 18-24 around town, with 44-48MPG on longer A road or Motorway trips. That's in Eco mode, using cruise as much as possible. I only use supermarket fuel as it's closest to me, but don't see any difference in economy between that and the 'brand' stuff when I do fill up at Shell...

Re: Heads Up on Wiring issue
There was a wiring related recall earlier this year. Related to a harness that had been installed incorrectly in some models (mine was Inscription Pro, included in recall but not affected by error), leading to the harness rubbing and eventually wearing through causing faults - they said it would imp...

Re: Dash cam install
Thought I'd add a little more detail about getting to the earth point. I had to remove the bonnet release lever (only 1 Torx head screw), to get the carpet away, otherwise you're going to be working in a really tight space. There's a fair amount of wire connected to the earth point with a plastic p...

Re: Dash cam install
I have the same camera and kit. I used the actual earth point that most of the wiring goes to as nothing else was working reliably. You'll need to pull a fair bit of the passenger well carpet away to expose it, but it's not as daunting as it sounds and all goes back in such a way you'd never know it...

Re: Depreciation? What depreciation?
Just for giggles I put my details into WBAC - 70 plate Inscription Pro 3600 miles and they offered the same value, high £31k. Seems that might be a kind of set level for the XC40 regardless. Either way, £9k off the forecourt value in 6 months. If that holds for 18 - 24 months I'd be happy.
