I still miss the dipstick to confirm it has been done. Just seeing x litres of 0-20w Mobil on the invoice doesn't butter any parsnips for me!

I've always been very gentle with engines for the first thousand miles or so. It may not make any difference but it can't do any harm.

Doesn’t it seem odd to check the oil level with the engine RUNNING after years of having to let the hot oil settle back in the sump before wielding the traditional dipstick? Exactly! As for the accuracy of the sensor, the number of erroneous oil level messages I have had leaves me with no faith in ...
