Not to mention hand-cranking for when the battery is nearly flat. :)

Re: Spare wheel

The spare was a no brainer for me as well. Sod's law dictates you will get a puncture at the worst possible time, and you could always carry a foam repair kit as well in case that would be a better option at the time. Just bear in mind you will have to find the space for the full size wheel you take...

It's good that BLIS saved you, but you may wish to delete your post as you have just publicly confessed to the offence of Driving Without Due Care and Attention...

Re: Beware - My signal blocking pouch failed.

I think that most of these flexible pouches have a fairly limited lifespan. The microwave suggestion would work, but a tad heavy to carry around. 😊

Re: Stop/start

The stop/start always defaults to 'on' every time you start the car in the same way it always defaults to comfort mode. You can however configure an individual drive mode with stop/start disabled.

Re: Drive Mode configurations

1) I can’t believe that ECO mode shouldn’t be used on highways. Makes no sense at all. Personal choice. 2) Pretty sure that our 4-C on the XC40 does not vary the suspension height. Only stiffness. Anything we see printed about that in XC40 literature is probably a mistake just copied and pasted fro...

Re: Dash Cams - Again

The internet is awash with people flaunting their own stupidity in every way imaginable (and then some). As a dash cam user for self-protection I am always aware that the footage could be used against me if I do anything wrong, so it encourages me to drive as if a traffic cop was in the passenger se...

Re: Remote Start

Just to throw something else into the mix, petrol engines generally warm up more quickly than diesel. There may also be a difference between the 3 and 4 cylinder engines. I'm a bit of a nerd myself, but don't have all the variants at my disposal to do the comparative testing.

Re: Particulate filters

According to the Which? website: The technology has also been introduced on most new petrol models introduced since September 2018 in order to meet the EU6c requirements. Do petrol particulate filters need maintenance? According to manufacturers, cars with petrol particulate filters shouldn’t need t...

Re: Driving Modes

I also like the fact Eco mode lowers the car a bit, to get better aerodynamics Is your car equipped with the optional FourC hydraulic suspension (no longer available since 2020)? Otherwise, car height and suspension stiffness is not adjustable. On the XC40 only the suspension stiffness (via the dam...
