Re: What have you just found out about your XC40.

Not long after I got my XC40 I was invited to a feedback session (in the UK) organised by Volvo which was attended by staff from Volvo Sweden. When I queried the purpose of that pocket a Volvo 'product expert' told me it was for storing my earbuds, Being an old codger I had to Google what earbuds we...

Re: Parking Sensors

I think that they are something to do with Pilot Parking Assistance or some such similar gizmo that I don't have on my car. I'm sure somebody else will be along to tell us!

Re: Volvo torque converter - what do you think?

Well, this is a sort of goodbye from me as, for various reasons, I've done a deal on a new V60 Cross Country. Have to say that I was very happy with the V60 that I had for 8 years before my XC40. I would have probably gone for another but my patience ran out waiting for the new model. I miss the ve...

Re: SOS Button

My understanding is that it is only mandatory for e-call to be installed in cars Type Approved after April 2018 which is presumably after when the XC40 was approved. If that is correct then the XC40 might not even be equipped with e-call.

Re: Auto stop start disabled

As mentioned in another post, Volvo seem to have cracked the stop-start function in the new 'B' spec models. It seems to work very smoothly and is unintrusive unlike the implementation in my XC40. Like many others I switch mine off every time.

Re: New XC40, not quite yet !

The V60 I had before my XC40 was my first auto. I'd never go back to manual now!

Re: Servicing

That story doesn't ring true, to my knowledge V60s never had timing chains.

Re: Software Update - May 2020

Not sure if I am imagining things but my T5 seems smoother and slightly more responsive since recent service. I notice that there was an April'20 software update which provided "Improvement of the engine management system's optimisation". Mind you it might just be because they changed the ...
