Re: Brand new B3 plus

The Mazda CX-5 is going mild hybrid in the next model year, with the changeover happening about now, but the price has gone up by less than £1k. Interestingly their mild hybrid has no performance benefit, giving a slower 0-60mph due to the car being slightly heavier. It seems they've gone purely for...

New ones are £20.19 on Amazon including delivery. I bought some a few weeks back otherwise I might have been interested.

How about a heated steering wheel? That seems to be a deal-breaker for me when looking at sub-£40k Audis/Mercs/BMWs/Hondas etc.

Re: Volvo dealership advises Volvo UK will soon offer better DashCam offerings

That's a random comment, any evidence dashcams stop the airbags working? It's pretty obvious that if you route the cable incorrectly it will inhibit the deployment, and that you're unlikely to find out until the airbags actually deploy. https://www.justcarkits.co.uk/blog/2018/11/21/good-dash-cam-in...

People who have had "no issues" - does this include when the air bags deploy? No point having video of a crash if the dashcam wiring obstructs the airbag and you die.

Re: What to drive next?

The new Qashqai is worth a look. I test drove one and it was fine. Nothing exciting about it at all, but on the other hand there was nothing objectionable either - it ticked all the boxes. I am considering it alongside the CX-5 which like most cars has some plus points (lovely interior, great handli...

Re: What don't you like about your XC40?

All the car manuals I've ever had have said to wipe the dipstick with a lint-free cloth. I've never had a cloth I've regarded as sufficiently lint free, so it's nice not to have to worry about contaminating the oil with fibres, not that it would make much difference.

During this app engine start up there is zero air blowing, not even cold air !
Your aircon should default to its previous setting. It will only blow zero air if you previously turned the fan off.

Re: First Service - Main Dealer or Independent?

I'd always choose a main dealer while the car is in warranty so they can sort anything covered under warranty with minimum palaver.

Re: lighting

They're more for getting out of the car, when you open the door you can see what you're about to step in to. Very useful if you often park in unlit places.
