Re: Volvo’s Integrated Running Boards
This is, of course, nonsense. They are a standard accessory and insurers will treat them as such. I don’t think it’s cut and dry in all cases. Many years ago, we had a golf. It was a lovely car and it had a few factory fitted options, the winter pack being one of them. During an insurance claim (it...

Re: Speeding summons
I’m booked on one next Wednesday. 48 in a 40. First offence in 43 years of driving. The bonus, if there’s such a thing relating to a speeding, is that it’s a virtual course so I can do it from the comfort of my house. I never engaged the speed limiter

Re: No more heated windscreen? (Recharge Pure)
I've been a T5 First Edition owner back when they first came out and one feature I've found really useful in frosty weather has been the heated windscreen. I've been looking into a fully electric XC40 and have noticed as part of recent updates to the specification (in the UK at least), they seem to...

Re: Steering noise
That is dry friction noise from the springs sitting in the top suspension rubber mounting when the car is under full load i.e moving the steering whilst the car is stationary - if the wheels were off the ground - no noise. Spray with a silicon spay then all good. Yes and no. It used to do it 20mins...

Re: Steering noise
Here’s my noise. As I already said, sprayed the top suspension mounts with bike chain lube and it got rid of it. https://youtube.com/shorts/zrJgWYi0h1w?feature=share

Re: Deformed window guide trim
Yes that’s how mine looked, it was done under warranty as there is an active TSB (in the U.S. ) that describes this as a fault. The service operator at the dealership still tried to imply he did me a favour by allowing this to go through as a warranty claim…..yeah right! TSB details F081871C-1E1C-4...

Re: Deformed window guide trim
Hi Everyone, I have today had the window guide trim on the drivers door replaced on my ( just) 1 year old XC40. The trim had warped and bowed out so that the rubber strip no longer made an effective seal, apparently this is a known fault as a current active TSB exists. Worth checking if there are a...
