Yes you can, I do it all the time. Occasionally, if I've had a couple of dopios I stick it in sport mode and have a little fun. Not as much fun as I used to have every day with my last car (Merc C class coupe) but I'm getting on now so Volvo for me from now on.

Here is a technical question for you mechanics (sorry, I mean technicians) out there. I understand that the starter battery on the hybrid is charged when you plug in to charge the hybrid battery, however, is there an alternator on the petrol engine to charge it when your using power mode.

That is exactly what I thought I would be using them for. Don't want or need any more white noise from the salesman though, if they aren't there then it won't be easy to get them will it.
