Re: Built-in Volvo Satnav vs. TomTom

Haven't used a Tom Tom for years because of the convenience of an in built system. However I have found the Volvo incredibly accurate re journey times. Usually within minutes over a 150 mile journey I often do a mixture of motorway and country roads. Much more accurate than my previous Audi and VW o...

Re: Volvo smart repair on car purchase

Meant to add that I'd probably avoid the smart repair at £499. I had one from VW and it was just a deal with a smart repair franchise with restrictions on size of repair. Repair only as good as franchisee and probably only costs £100/150 a go if you haven't got the add on. So you need a few repairs ...

Re: Volvo smart repair on car purchase

Totally agree re service. They used also to do a 3 year one for £399 which I have (don't know whether they still do) its brilliant and a great saving. Even included the Adblu top up although that's not relevant on new cars.

Re: Servicing @ Volvo Bristol

Ditto Waterhouse in Chelmsford. Collected and returned and cleaned it beautifully inside and out. Also filled up with adblu at no cost. Is that usual on service package it certainly wasn't with VW.

Re: Volvo on call

It should have been set up by the dealer when you collected. I would get on to them. they didn't do mina either but were able to do it remotely when I chased them.

Re: ACC/BLIS are magic!

Have to say I have had no issues with ACC at all. Always seems to slow me down perfectly even when coming up to stationary cars. Minor niggle is it doesn't accelerate up fast enough when road becomes clear and you end up with a queue behind you but I know to accelerate until I am near set speed.

Re: Back Mud Guards / Front and Rear

I have a set at back fitted from new as an option. Always have them on all my cars as I do a fair bit of driving in muddy fields and lanes. Wouldn't be without them.

Re: What overall mark out of ten.

I have had my R Design D4 4wd for 18 months. Did 17,000 miles in first year but only another 2,000 since May. Like many others I would give it a solid 8. Actually for me it would be 9 as a road car but I am a fisherman and it would only be 6/7 for use in muddy fields and off road although I realise ...

Re: Steering pulling to the left

No problem in my D4 R design but I have had a similar problem on other cars in past. either a tyre issue as stated above or steering wheel not quite centred. Keep complaining it should be resolved.

Re: Speeding summons

Speed awareness courses depend on who is running them. The two I have been on (years apart) were delivered by independent consultants who were doing it as a paying job and didn't have an axe to grind. Relaxed and useful with lots of chat and useful pointers to avoid getting caught. They were outrage...
