Re: XC40 Remote Start

My remote start used to work everytime - now it seems to time out and say 'engine issue' (or something like that) for the last couple of weeks. I could even remote start the car from my apple watch without any issues. I have noticed I have a software update on the car which maybe connected. In the ...

Good luck, Volvo UK couldn't care less about any complaints I've made to them.

Re: What have you just found out about your XC40.

Had my first Slippery Road Alert - the feature where other Volvo's communicate road conditions to each other and you get a little warning icon on the speedo to warn you. The road wasn't slippy but I thought it was cool!

Re: Coasting

Does it engine brake normally? I am pretty sure I've only ever felt this in Dynamic, maybe I'm not sensitive enough to discern it doing it in other drive modes. I find the XC40 excellent at free-wheeling, I'm always having to brake when going down even a slight gradient because I'm catching up with ...

Re: Volvo On Call - "Engine Not Working Properly"

Just a quick update for those reading this in the future - I didn't get round to bringing it to the dealer but the problem has not reoccurred, it lasted maybe 48 hours. I'm wondering if it was due to getting it serviced and some gremlins escaping. Or maybe the battery was a bit low. Or maybe it was ...

Volvo On Call - "Engine Not Working Properly"

I've had my car a year and recently got the car serviced but of course this has absolutely nothing to do with that! The Volvo On Call app has been unable to Remote Start the engine with the following error message: "Your Volvo could not be started because the engine is not working properly"...

Re: Voice Commands

Does anyone know how to cancel if you hit the button by mistake? Hitting the button again doesn't do it, nor does shouting cancel! At least for me.

Otherwise I find them handy to switch on the seat/steering heat or change the temperature/fan speed.

Re: Automatic gearbox very shocky

When you start the car, do you wait for the engine idle to drop before moving? I find that helps. It takes 20-30 seconds perhaps.
