Re: Poll: Which engine/transmission are you looking at, or have purchased?

Each to their own of course, but you cant get a better spec than a T5 first edition anyway. I agree David, plus, what are the residuals of the diesels going to be like in a few years time with the slating that they are getting in the press at the moment? Besides, I don't do enough miles in a year t...

Re: Still after a boot dog cage

These are high quality and well recommended.... https://www.transk9.com/select/volvo/ dont do one for XC40 yet but if you message them they may be able to suggest an alternative that will fit or get a custom design ready for soon after. Not cheap but good protection. What sort of dog is it? Pets at ...

Re: Delivery Date

Haha. That's not to say that I didn't just launch into pressing button's/making selections...before realising that perhaps the manual was needed. Does that count? I'll give you that - I normally get working what i need, dont use other stuff or ask my son to sort technology! I always work out how to...

Re: Delivery Date

Finally the time is almost here collecting Saturday morning just been sent a video of my new car showing all ready for collection. Congrats. Slowly the population increases. Enjoy. Make time over the weekend to sit down with the manual with the car. I've learnt loads over the past few days (and tha...

Re: Delivery Date

PCPs can be extended month by month I think. A 4 month delay on a 2 month wait is pretty poor - nearly as bad as the builders of my new house and they are rubbish! I've never worried about the reg (as I have a personal plate on!) - only realised there was a new plate out when I fetched my last car o...

Re: For sale prices how much ?

Porsche have done this in the past when they’ve had supply issues. I wouldn’t knock it; it keeps used values high. Not through Porsche dealers anymore - they will be stripped of franchise if seen selling a desirable car for above list as an ex demo.... So should Volvo. Looks like you are taking adv...

That looks remarkably good for 4 years - less than £20k depreciation? How many miles per annum?

My £55k SQ5 only has a GFV at £26500 ish based on 10k a year for 4 years....

Re: Diesel vs Petrol Costs

For anyone interested I've put together a simple Excel spreadsheet showing the savings to be had by choosing diesel over petrol on the XC40 D4/T5. If you disagree with the £/l or mpg figures just enter your own in the yellow boxes. The difference in residuals has to be quite high to overcome the ex...
