It’s massively frustrating, I don’t see any consitisitancy, I’ve read that people who have ordered their cars after me, with the same spec are having earlier build dates.

Asked my dealer today about factory vacation shutdown. Factory closed week 29, 30 and 31. I found out today my build date is 02/11/18! Volvo have also pulled the V40 option - Guess that is due to the amount of people in the same situation or I don't fit into the option due to another 6 months wait time. My dealer mentioned the bridging scheme to me last week as an option Basically they are registering a load of v40’ s to rent to those waiting without a car impacted by the delay We are waiting to find out the cost of this but was told it would be ‘cheap’...... Just called the dealer after speaking to them yesterday but were waiting for the communication from Volvo.

I have a build date for 8th Nov - My car goes back on 15th June and Volvo have pulled their V40 bridging option.

Now I have to decide what do to.

Looks lovely with the blue sky in the background tho!! Same thing happened to me with a Golf, they had done some damage while it was in the garage, I didn’t see it but already had a curtesy car. Dealer gave me 3 years free servicing as an apology, that took various threats of head office and the omb...
